Yup the fine folk at Duke University have built a 50 gigapixel camera....don't worry this is not going to replace your point and shoot camera anytime soon weighing in at 100 lbs and about the size of a couple microwave ovens stacked one upon the other. The article pretty much says that this will be a game changer doing away with the need to compose your image carefully....I could not disagree with that more but will acknowledge that for surveillance applications the prospects are quite frightening....if big brother is not watching now .... don't think it won't happen in the near future.
