Bear Hug

Polar Bear: I come in Peace
Norbert Rosing's striking images of a wild polar bear coming upon
tethered sled dogs in the
 wilds of Canada's Hudson Bay.

The photographer was sure that he was going to see the end of his dogs when the polar bear wandered in.

It's hard to believe that this polar bear only needed to hug someone!
The Polar Bear returned every night that week to play with the dogs.

Black Top Nationals 2012

Sunday was a great day to take in the BTN in Wichita with the beautiful cool summer day so we hiked down from the house and soaked in the day.

Ducks & Geese Go A Swimmin'

We walked down the Black Top Nationals Car show yesterday.  It was a beautiful sunny day after all the rain we got on Friday & Saturday.  On the way back I thought I might be able to catch a duck and jumped into the river after a bunch of them.  Deciding that they were too small anyway I set my sights on the geese up ahead .... well geese really don't have a sense of humor.  Not sure why I had to get a bathtub bath when we got home since I had a lovely river bath.

Not where it should be....

Got the bike down to the garage Friday night and got the carburetor assembly removed. The bowls were very clean but two of the needle tips were sheered off and will require a little finesse to remove. 4 carb kits are now on order and will arrive next week.

Kodak Set to Quit Film & Paper Business

In a BBC News article,

"In its latest announcement the US company said it had hired investment bank Lazard to help it sell its Personalised Imaging and Document Imaging businesses.

This would mean an end to it making films for still cameras, photo papers, souvenir photo products at theme parks, scanners and picture print-out kiosks at stores.

It would leave the business focused on printers, cinema film stock and chemicals.

The British Journal of Photography said the news would concern the industry."

The times they are a changing...for the rest of the article: Kodak Set to Quit film business ....

1st fall 2012 monarch

B-12

Him h'ain't been able to start the bike like Him wants to with a simple turn of the key and a depressin' of the starter button....and don't have enough kick in him to kick it 30+ times so we can ride. Ryan said B-12 would do the job with a thorough disassembly and a cleaning of the carbs. If that don't do it guess him will have to get a B12 vitamin shot.

Art & Motorcycles

The first image is of a Spanish artwork that was recently "fixed" by an 80 year old amateur painter...one art critic said that it resembled a hairy monkey in an ill fitting tunic. Here is the story.

The second image well speaks for itself but would have made a lovely addition to the art of the motorcycle show recently.

Trying on Motorcycles ....

Last night while hanging out with the guys I decided to try on motorcycles.  Him has been wanting a sidecar for me to ride in so that I would have my own space to co-pilot as necessary but I think this is way cooler!  If you have any suggestions or thoughts let me know.

Super Dog?
